Psychopharmacology

Modern brain science and drug development have made great strides in recent years.  Common conditions such as depression and anxiety respond to medications which usually have minimal side effects.  To learn more, see our sidebar on pharmacotherapy.

Counseling

Psychotherapy is an important component of treatment that enhances and stabilizes the effect of medications.  WFPA does not offer this service but maintains close relationships with local area therapists to whom we can provide referrals.    Experts agree that the combined benefit of medication plus therapy exceeds either treatment by itself.  See our sidebar to learn more about the science and potential of counselling.

Opiate Dependence program

Opiate addiction has historically been very difficult to treat.  New developments, both in approaches to counseling and use of medications are very promising.  Buprenorphine is a drug that rapidly and effectively allows patients to escape their daily preocupation with optaining drugs so that they can begin to focus their energy on treatment and recovery.  Our program is organized in a way to maximize your chances of success, read more in the sidebar.

WFPA:  to find us head north off of Capital Blvd. onto S. Main St. (1A) .  Go 3/4 mile and turn R onto Rogers, and cross the railroad tracks.  Our medical office park is just to the left.   See map
