Duncan McEwen, M.D.

Dr. McEwen attended Duke University as an undergraduate and graduated from Tulane University Medical School.  He completed his psychiatric residency at the University of North Carolina  in 1986.  Over the years he has worked in both the private and public sectors with a special interest in treating mood disorders, substance abuse, and ADD.

Dr. McEwen is a strong believer in the bio-psychosocial model of conceptualizing human health and disease.  This model stresses the need to recognize the complexity of human problems, and the necessity of assessing the contributions of biological, social, and developmental factors in a patient's history and treatment planning.

Dr. McEwen is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
